Out of sight, out of mind

-       -    Of course, it doesn’t apply to vocabulary classes!
Being honest, to complete the course we were supposed to cover a lot of ground, but the end justifies the means. Once or twice I was ready to lose my nerve because of a number of home tasks. Now I take the view the reason was not in the subject, but in being-a-lazy-bones.  A widespread midnight thought: “Oh… And also a vocabulary L  This blog is like a pain my neck!”.  Then, bit by bit, I began to realize that all these tasks were worth doing and really deserved glowing tributes. Needless to say, in order not to be on the rocks, you just have to divide your time reasonably.  It’s my firm conviction that later I’ll have a kind of nostalgia for the classes, because they really did me good.
My dear fellows! You’re about to take the baton! Beforehand, take your time to watch some helpful tips from your mentors:
1.       Get as much out of the studying as possible.
2.       Fight a desire to go away everytime you see a new wordlist.
3.       Write the blogs on time – it really gives a feeling like you’re on horseback.
4.       During a two-trimesters-long vocabulary trip, don’t forget to make some stop-offs.
5.       Learn how to fully recharge your batteries in 3 hours before a module test.
6.       If your classes nine times were held in the room 48, it doesn’t mean that for the 10th time it’d be the same location.
7.       Keep in mind – the vocabulary is the only class where you’ll be given double sheets of paper.
8.       On behalf of the whole group I declare: DON’T POSTPONE.
9.       Learn the pronunciation of ‘mutual’.
1.   And the last thing: the vocabulary develops not only your language skills, but also makes you an actor (actress), journalist, film director, screenwriter and operator.

Easier said than done, I know. But take the initiative and DO! Good luck!

How to Recharge Environmental Batteries?

The Earth gasps in the arms of an eco-disaster. Acid rains scald its skin and deforestation makes it bleed out; exhaust fumes cause a strong caugh and a nuclear waste leads to incurable diseases.
The most terryfying thing is that a natural habitat destruction is only a beginning of a 'trouble-list'.
Cutting down oaks, elms etc., polluting soil, air and water, a human transforms the planet into a landfill.  Ask yourself a question: what is a reason of hard and wheezy earth sighs? The answer is - we are. We forgot that natural resources are not renewable, as a lizard's tail is, but we continue to use them up intensively. While trying to find a guilty, just stop and take your time to think: what did I personally do to make the situation better?
Ecological problems haven't bypassed Ukraine. Results of a greenhouse effect and a global warming significantly affect our lives. The Red Book includes hundreds of species which are under threat of dying out. We do have to change our ways of approach to the nature, otherwise, there are going to be dire conequences.
The most powerful 'weapons' which could influence people are money and a shame:

  1. The government has to implement high fines for ventures which pollute the environment with toxic waste and chemicals (but of course, it's better to make higher fees for utilities!).
  2. Those who throw away garbage have to be fined as well.
  3. Regarding to hunting, it is strongly recommended to ban it at all. We should protect a biodiversity!
  4. In the places where human could do harm, have to be a kind of  'appeals to a conscience'. For example: 'Everytime when you're throwing away rubbish, you identify yourself with it' etc.
Remember, the Earth needs your care! Don't neglect it!

Frozen. A New Version.
Since we met the butterflies became permanent residents in my stomach.  It was love at first sight. I remember we bumped into each in the dorm kitchen. He gave the impression of a passionate and charismatic man. As soon as I saw him I considered him to be my type. His appearance fascinated me – a beautiful pointed face, a lovely complexion and a lot of other things which made me fall madly in love with him.

I was amazed by his character and behavior. Friends called him “Fridge”. I guess it was so because he wasn’t an outgoing personality. Fridge was a good listener, he kept all my secrets and never lost his temper. From time to time I thought that he was rather a cold fish. There were some reasons. Everytime when I was talking he was as silent as a grave It hurt my feelings. Fortunately, I was mistaken – he had a heart of gold:
-Fridge, I came back! I’m awfully tired, exhausted and very hungry!
-Take it easy. I have something tasty to cheer you upJ
-My favourite cakes? Really? Don’t you play a joke on me?
-Voila!
It was one of many examples of his generousity. Being stressed I even could came to him at midnight. He was a good company and very sensible interlocutor.
My relations with a refrigerator will never come to an end. We will keep in a close contact till the time I’ll be a student. We’ll continue to get on well with each other till his freeze function will be working well.
Take your time to think whether you don’t underestimate those who are always with you in sickness and in health, for better or worse ;)

In the history of humanity there were a lot of outstanding people, inevitable events and phenomena which considerably affected a further development of a mankind. Of course, some of them produced unforeseen results, but the other brought about important changes.
I can’t distinguish between people and things, judging different contributions and a level of their significance. It’s hard to evaluate objectively beneficial effects, because it happened then. Present is very different from what was some years or even centuries ago.
During the whole year I’ve been trying to grasp the importance of what is taking place now. At first The Euromaidan, and then an undeclared war… I take the view that all these events changed our conscience and outlook, especially youth’s one.  But does a nation have a say after all? – Sure. In winter a lot of people stood up for liberty and died in order to give us a chance to restart a mechanism of authority. Unfortunately, people got a counter-productive result.
Nowadays we have an expected but not desirable outcome.
While thousands of men were mobilized to defend civil rights and integrity of the country, a government continues to allocate money and business. They really don’t care that wife and a small child meet not a husband and father but a coffin with a lifeless body.
While charities and volunteers fit out the military, ministers ensure that soldiers are provided with all necessary and a funding is satisfactory.
It is possible to continue a list till the infinity. I reckon that bit by bit our country will drown in hypocrisy, greed and lie.
When will the government begin to take Ukrainians’ needs seriously? How long will they carry on to get rich on deaths of citizens?
On behalf of all young people, I beg you to hear the voice of demos! Don’t you afraid of dreams where grief-stricken mothers blame you for their sons’ deaths? Or when tearful children are asking you why you took away their father?

   Serve people, not your purses!
Guard a piece, not your villas.
